OPEN DIVISION - The
Boy Scouts of
America, Grand Canyon
Council - Ocotillo
District is bringing Pinewood Derby racing back to the 2008 Midnight at the Oasis.
And, once again they are sponsoring an open competition for
all ages. As a special Attraction this year, the open
division has been challenged by racing legend and special
guest Chevron guest Mario Andretti.
Come Race Mario and see
how your car stacks up against his. The racing begins
Saturday, March 8 at 9:30 am on the main stage. To enter, all
you have to do is purchase a car kit, build it and race it.
The entry fee is free. You can register
your car at the event beginning one-hour prior to the racing. The
official rules can be download below. Car kits are available
locally in Yuma (see locations below). To help
you with finding and building a Pinewood Derby car, the
Caballeros have provided links to Internet sites of interest below.
